Juega como un pequeño pez dorado con un apetito insaciable. Después de ser sobrealimentado por su dueño, usted escapará al océano y comenzará a comer todo lo que encuentre. ¡ Cuanto más comas, más grande te vas! Comer camarones, tortugas, tiburones, submarinos, casas, aviones, y mucho más!

Además de los peces dorados, también se puede jugar como un delfín y un tiburón. El delfín comienza como una estrella de acuario con exceso de trabajo, forzada a saltar a través de aros de fuego para la comida. Se escapa del cautiverio comiendo su camino a través del acuario y tomando venganza de su entrenador. El tiburón es el personaje final jugable, un pez artificial creado por los científicos para salvar los océanos de la tierra. Utiliza nano-tecnología autorreplicante para consumir todo en su camino y convertir su materia en su propio. No se sabe lo grande que va a llegar este tiburón.

Tasty Blue cuenta con más de 50 niveles en el modo historia principal del juego. También hay 15 niveles de bonificación más desafiantes para jugar después de que el juego principal se ha completado. Los niveles se extienden a través de tres ambientes diversos en el juego: templado, tropical, y Ártico.

Tasty Blue puede ser jugado por dos jugadores en el mismo ordenador! Este modo cooperativo es extremadamente divertido de experimentar con un amigo. Las opciones permiten la pantalla dividida (horizontal o vertical) o la pantalla compartida (esto proporciona más espacio en la pantalla pero restringe el movimiento de los jugadores juntos).
